Welcome to the second course in our Preceptor Development Series: Preceptor Development 102 - Assessment and Rubrics. By the conclusion of this CE course, participants will be able to ensure alignment of learning goals with assessment techniques, with particular attention on optimizing rubrics as assessment tools. Your course facilitator for "Assessment and Rubrics" is Dr. Victoria Williams, PharmD.

After completing this module, the participant should be able to:

  1. Differentiate various assessment tools.
  2. Describe the anatomy of a rubric.
  3. Explain the benefits and challenges of using a rubric.
  4. Examine the assessment of clinical skills.
  5. Recognize rubric requirements outlined by accreditation bodies (e.g., ASHP for residency, ACPE for pharmacy schools).
  6. Evaluate rubrics for strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement.
